Carol Johansen, a Utah native and descendant of 1847 pioneers, began her teaching career in her 30’s, transitioning into art education after discovering a profound passion for creativity and expression. Deeply inspired by stories of westward migration and the vast landscapes of the West, she captures the spirit of place through vivid color and expressive compositions. In her studio, she transforms these experiences into larger works that connect emotionally with viewers, exploring themes of history, nature, and shared human discovery.
